Terms of Use
PathAfter is a practical organizing tool for the first week after a death in California. It helps families track tasks, gather documents, and use plain-language scripts. It does not replace a funeral director, attorney, court, medical professional, tax advisor, financial advisor, or government agency.
1. Use of PathAfter
You may use PathAfter for personal, family, and caregiving purposes. You may not copy, scrape, resell, republish, or create a competing product from the PathAfter interface, wording, scripts, data structure, icons, or brand materials without permission.
2. No professional advice
PathAfter provides general organizing information. It is not legal, medical, tax, financial, funeral-directing, estate-planning, or emergency-response advice. Laws, fees, forms, office procedures, and agency rules can change. Always verify urgent decisions with the appropriate professional or agency.
3. Emergency and safety situations
If there is an immediate safety risk, suspected crime, unattended death, danger to a dependent, or urgent medical situation, contact emergency services or the proper local authority.
4. California scope
PathAfter is a California first-week-after-death guide with county-specific resource pages. It is not a law firm, government agency, funeral home, medical provider, or emergency service. Do not assume the same steps, offices, fees, or timelines apply outside California.
5. Local device storage
Checklist progress may be saved in your browser using localStorage. This progress stays on the device/browser you used and does not automatically transfer to another device.
6. Intellectual property
PathAfter™, the ship-and-wave mark, the nautical icon system, original checklist wording, scripts, page layout, code organization, source-backed data structure, and printable packet concepts are protected by trademark, copyright, and other applicable rights. Public laws, government facts, official forms, and government source materials remain public/source materials; PathAfter claims its original expression, selection, arrangement, interface, and branding.
7. No warranty
PathAfter is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work to keep information clear and source-backed, but we do not guarantee that every item is complete, current, or applicable to your situation.
8. Contact
For corrections, permissions, or rights questions, use the contact method listed on PathAfter when available.
